Hi,
My name is Laura and this year I turned 50. I have been teaching for 26 years. I took about 6 months off when I gave birth to my beautiful daughter. I have taught 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. Over the course of my career I have been a science coordinator, a computer teacher, the gifted teacher, I've teamed taught, and I have been both mentor and a mentee many times over, and each experience had helped me become a better person and teacher.
Of all the grades that I have taught, for me fourth grade is the best. The children learn to become more independent, their sense of humor becomes more sophisticated, and I love NY's social studies curriculum as much as the children do.
I teach in Westchester, New York. I love it here. I met my husband here, and we have built a very blessed life.
I started this blog, because one of the ways you stay sharp as a teacher is to try something new. So here I am trying something new. I love new adventures, don't you?
